Welcome to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. As a new year begins, we look back with pride on the many accomplishments that strengthened our Hospital's ability to provide leading-edge healthcare delivered with compassion to the communities we serve. We also look toward the future as we develop initiatives that will enable the Hospital to grow while maintaining its commitment to service excellence.

During the tenure of my predecessor, Thomas K. Cullen, Brookhaven accomplished many milestones, such as; the opening of The Stroke Center, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, and Total Joint Replacement Services, P.C. Perhaps his most important achievement was bringing Graduate Medical Education back to Brookhaven with the establishment of the Family Medicine Residency Program. As a result, Brookhaven Hospital adopted a new mission statement to reflect our dedication to training the physicians of the future.

Growth has begun this year with the opening of 2 Central, a new 30-bed Pulse Oximetry and Telemetry unit. Looking further ahead, Brookhaven must continue to expand in order to serve our growing population. There are plans to create a state-of-the-art Imaging Center at 100 Hospital Road. In conjunction with St. Francis, The Heart Center, we intend to open a Catheterization Laboratory, which will begin to establish Brookhaven as a center for Cardiovascular Services in Suffolk County.

The continued success of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital is based upon a solid mission to deliver accessible high-quality health services in a focused caring and teaching environment while providing health advocacy for the community and people we serve. Our administration and staff live up to that mission daily while serving our patients and their families.
